Week two. May 2014

LOOK:

QUESTION:
The underlying question was the same as before: if I stick to painting each shape in the correct place with the correct color and value will I end up with a reasonably accurate painting that makes some sense out of the overwhelming complexity? But really... I just wanted to gorge myself on color!

PAINT:
Magic Carpet Ride, 16"x9", oil on gessoed paper, $350 framed.
Visit my website www.elizabethsauder.com to purchase this and other paintings and photographs and to see more images from this painting trip.

FIELD NOTES:
I painted this one in the cool of the early morning, when the carnival was closed, the rides were still and I only had the flapping of the flags to keep me company. Much more relaxing!
